School of Physics and Information Technology contains 3 majors, which are physics, applied electrical technology and science and technology of electrical information. The school also has a key acoustics laboratory of Shaanxi province, applied acoustics institute, modern optic institute, and condensed state and material physics institute.

The school has a faculty of 105, among whom there are 69 full-time teachers and include 13 professors, 25 vice-professors. There is one member of the Chinese Academy of Science, 8 doctoral supervisors.

There are 937 graduates and 227 postgraduates studying in the school.

The school paid considerable attention to construction of the subject and have one postdoctoral mobile program, one doctoral program, and 8 master programs.

The school owns advantages in scientific and academic research. During “ Tenth Five-year Plan”, the school undertakes 40 programs of scientific research supported by national, province, ministry and other scientific research foundation, in which 10 achievements owned patent. 79 papers published in SCI.
